The PLANITHERM Network and County Windows.

Thursday, May 10th, 2012

In recent months, you may have seen the PLANITHERM Network advertised across a many of the TV channels you watch.  This has been to build awareness of two key points.
Firstly, the launch of the product. Saint Gobain, the glass manufacturer, has created a range of energy saving, low-emissivity glazing solutions that can help insulate your home or business, thereby lowering your energy bill spend. PLANITHERM glass is combined in the double glazed unit of the window to achieve (along with the frame) an energy rating of at least a ‘C’. All new windows have to be energy rated. If you go up to an ‘A’ rating, you are going to make long term gains in your fuel costs. The glass is a huge element in this rating, which is why Saint Gobain have created this product.
The second reason for building awareness is the establishment of the PLANITHERM Network. This exists so that you, the consumer, can go to the website, find out in-depth information about this product, and then see who in the local area is installing this glass in their windows.
The good news is that County Windows is one of these fully certified installers. In fact, we are the only installer of PLANITHERM in central Hampshire. So, when you come to County to find out more about our energy rated window systems, you can have peace of mind knowing that this renowned and innovative product will be glazing your new windows, and over time, saving you money.

To gain a deeper understanding of energy rated windows, have a browse around the PLANITHERM site, and visit the about section.
And feel free to pop into our showroom or Contact Us any time to discuss energy rated windows.
Thank you.

* At the time of writing this blog, County Windows are offering a FREE upgrade to A-RATED glass on any UPVC windows ordered now. If you are thinking of some new windows, this would be a fantastic time.

October 1st 2010 -WER Day.

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

Surely it’s a just another date on this year’s calendar? A few ‘pinch and a punch’ moments as we segue into autumn’s many charms.
But the 1st October 2010 is a hugely significant date for the Window industry and therefore has many implications (and benefits) for our customers.

Under new government legislation, from the beginning of next month, all NEW and REPLACEMENT windows will be required to achieve a WER (Window Energy Rating) of C or above – illustrated here on this more and more recognizable symbol.
Why can this be a benefit? Well, double glazed windows can now be rated in the same way as white goods, such as washing machines, from A to G.  A-rated windows are now considered best practice by the Energy Savings Trust, as they exploit much less energy, have less of an environmental impact and are cheaper to run.
This of course has long term positive implications to your heating needs and energy bills.

County Windows and The Glass Centre are fully prepared for this legislation and we have in fact been supplying windows units with a WER rating for some time.

This new government policy has been fairly low key, hence this is why we have dedicated pages and downloadable leaflets on our website.
WER clarification is located here, and also you can perhaps expand your knowledge of our energy saving products here.
All of this information is of course available in hardcopy. So, either drop into the Conservatory Village or contact us (Hampshire or Surrey) with your address and we can mail it out to you.
Our sales team are also able to answer all and any questions you may have on this matter.

We are all here to help in any way we can. Thanks for reading!
